to The El Camino High School, Instrumental Music
Website. Mark Lowery, Director of the Instrumental Music
Program, has been teaching at
ECHS since 1992.
Mark has been a musician since the 4th grade. He
began playing the Clarinet in his elementary school band. In the 7th
grade became a bassoonist and continues to play the bassoon today.
Mark graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Music Education
and a Teaching Credential. He has taught music for over 30years in Southern California.
Mark came to El Camino High School in 1992 and serves
as the Chairperson of the Music Department. His bands
and orchestras have performed all over the United States and his Marching Units have performed at several
professional football game half time shows.
As an active
participant in Music Education, Mark is currently the Past President
of the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA).
He also
serves as a Clinician and Judges several Music Festivals and
Marching Band Competitions during
the year. His dedication to his work earned him the honor of
"Teacher of the Year"
for the Oceanside Unified School
District in
2004/2005.
The El Camino Instrumental Music Department strives to
present an opportunity for every
student who plays
a musical instrument to be involved in a musical ensemble. From
Orchestra to Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz
Band, Concert Band or Drum Line, we have something
for
everyone.
