Welcome to the Golden Pride Marching Band and Pageantry.
Congratulations on your plans to become a member of one of the top
marching units in San Diego. Over the years El Camino has earned a
reputation as a quality competitive band.
Known as the Golden Pride Marching Band &
Pageantry, the ECHS Marching Band
is
a performance-oriented ensemble
that competes at field tournaments
and performs at all home football games. The Golden Pride
includes performers in the areas of brass, woodwinds, battery
percussion, pit percussion, and color guard. Rehearsals include
the learning of music, movement/marching skills, and ensemble
performance skills for the field. Attired in black and white
uniforms with gold trim, the Golden Pride presents a striking and
professional appearance.
The primary purpose of this course is to train the members of the
Marching Band in the areas of marching and maneuvering. The
development of leadership and teamwork will be stressed. Students
will participate and perform in scheduled marching band activities.
Students will also participate and perform in selected competitions
and activities outside the band program. Students help promote
spirit by participating in school based activities.
Rehearsal clothing: Proper attire for rehearsals includes
athletic shoes with a flexible sole (no boots, high tops
or sandal's/thongs), shorts, sweats, or loose pants allowing
for unrestricted movement, and an appropriate top such as
a band t-shirt or other t-shirt. For band camp, students
should bring their own bottled water. They should
also bring plenty of sun screen as we will be marching and
rehearsing outside a lot of the time. Please check

If you are not sure about joining the marching band, you should come
to band camp and try it for a week. It's fun and an excellent way
to be part of school and part of a great group. Our student
leaders will make every effort to help you learn and enjoy the band
experience.
Our parent support group, The Golden Pride Booster Club has regular
meetings on the second Tuesday of each month in the band room from
7:00-9:00p.m. All parents are members and are invited to attend.
