Course Description The String Orchestra is a performance and standards based class.  Students will study music fundamentals and play their instrument daily.  Music will be prepared for concert performances and participation in all performances and festivals is required. 

Grades will be based on daily progress, test scores and attendance at concerts.  Three strikes will lower the grade by one letter grade per six-week period. 


Students are asked to play individually about once a week and are tested on music for performance.  Students are expected to have their instrument and music in class every day

Some additional Rehearsals in the evening prior to festival and spring concert will be announced in advance.

Concert attire for ALL instrumental-performing groups is long black dresses for the girls (must cover shoulder's with straps that are at least 1 inch wide)  and black slacks, white shirt, tie, dress shoes and black coat for boys.
