Permission of the instructor and/or audition is required to be in this class.
Course Description:
Wind Ensemble is
a band, which studies music basics (scales, melodies,
rhythms, and sight-reading) and performs major band
literature of the highest level. Wind and percussion
players with experience may audition.
The Wind Ensemble rehearses
each day, 5th period, for their numerous performances. Offering several
concerts throughout the year in conjunction with Concert Band and
Orchestra classes.
Wind Ensemble will prepare field show music as part of the Marching Band,
September thru December. Regular testing of music basics and music for
performance is done. Public performance concerts are scheduled
throughout the school year in the Truax Center of Performing Arts.
Additional performances, rehearsals, and clinics may be added.
Concert
attire:for ALL instrumental-performing groups is long black
dresses, (must cover shoulder's with straps that are at least 1 inch
wide) for the girls and black slacks, white shirt, tie, dress shoes
and black coat for boys. |
