Meet Your Coach!

Greetings Wildcat Families,

My name is Alayna Ryan and I am the new Colorguard Captain Head for the 2022 season.

I am excited to welcome you to the 2022 El Camino colorguard! My goal this season is to create a strong community for not only our marching members but their families as well. With the season quickly approaching please be in constant communication with the members as we will be providing them updated information when available.

I’d also like to formally introduce myself and share a little bit about my experience. I grew up in San Clemente, CA and after graduating from SCHS in 2015 I took over the colorguard program there. Since then I have taught at numerous schools in Orange County and I am currently the caption head at DanaHills High School. In the summer of 2021 I moved down to Oceanside, CA with my husband who is currently serving with the United States Marine Corps. Since relocating I have also accepted the position of Colorguard Caption Head at La Costa Canyon High School as well.

I began marching drum corps in 2014 first with Gold Drum and Bugle Corps and continued with Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets, The Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps, Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps, and aging out with Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019. This past summer I also had the privilege of working with Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps as their Colorguard Caption Head. I am looking forward to a fantastic competition season with the Golden Pride Marching Band and Colorguard! Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at
